I have not have time to make any cards lately. My husband, son, and daughter were sick with the 24 hour flu. Huband got it worse. He was in and out of the washroom for 3 days.
I should have some cards to post soon. Here is a card I made last year for my sister's friend's wedding. My sister wanted a card with the couple's photo on it and able to hold money, too. This was what I came up with. The couple loved it. The bride put it in an album for memory.
I don't have a picture of the inside but I'll try to take it later and post it.
I used a 7"x11" craft cardstock for the base. I scored it at 3 3/4" and at 7 3/8". For the inside pocket I cut on an angle halfway down and taped it down. Decorated the inside a little so it wouldn't look so plain. I tied the ribbon around the card first then taped the photo on. Stamped the big flower and punched the little flowers then put them on with dimensionals. This was not the one my sister gave away. I forgot to take a picture of the other one.
Materials Used:
Stamp-Look Like Spring
Papers-craft, so saffron, real red, whisper white
Inks-basic black, regal rose, so saffron
Accessories-ribbon, dimensionals, spring bouquet punch

Tissue Paper Box Card
I made this card using a tissue paper box for the pattern paper . I love the pattern of the box so I saved it for a card. I finally got around to it. I have a purple one, too. Just waiting for the inspiration to come for that one. Now back to the orange card. I carefully peeled off some layers of the box so that it would not be so thick on the card front. You need to do it slowly as you don't want to create any creases on the paper.
I stamped the Look Like Spring flowers then cut them out. I then put glitter in the middle of the flowers and after it dried it made the centre stand out more.
Materials Used:
Stamps-Looks Like Spring, Warmest Regards
Papers-More Mustard, Whisper White, Tissue Box
Inks-Only Orange, Basic Black
Accessories-grosgrain ribbon, glitter, dimensionals

Two Cute 6x6 Pages
I made these two 6x6 pages for my youngest sister. Then I got pregnant so that was all I made for her. So she joined my scrapbooking classes and made some more herself. She doesn't stamp or scrapbook but she loves to buy stamps. She is a sucker for cutesy ones. She buys them and I get to use them. In return I make cards for her. That is such a good deal. I have no problem with that. LOL
I did the rock n' roll technique on the flowers for this page.
I watercolour the three embossed flowers with the blender pen. The picture doesn't do the images justice.
Happy Scrapbooking!

Sketch Challenge 120
SCS sketch challenge. I finally made use of the Delight In Life stamp set that I got during the Sell-A-Bration. This is such a beautiful set. I love this stuff!
I got the colour inspiration from a magazine. I have decided to collect all the things I see that I like and put them into a binder for inspiration. Still have not done that yet but eventually I'll get to it. I have all these things I've collected just laying around here and there. LOL Green is in right now and I have been making a lot of cards using green. I'm sure you know this by now. Green is not my favourite colour but it sure does make beautiful cards.
Materials Used:
Stamp-Delight In Life
Papers-certainly celery, hunter green, summer sun, whisper white
Inks-mellow moss, basic black, real red
Accessories-hodgepodge hardware, grossgrain ribbon

Purse Card
I made this card for my daughter Faith's friend's 4th birthday. Her birthday was today. It was such a cute little purse. I used a 4 1/4" x 11" cardstock for this purse. I scored it at 3 7/8" and at 8" leaving the flap at 3". I then used a circle to make the rounded flap. I don't have the velcro for the closer for the flap so I used brads and keyhole anchor to close the purse. It was hidden under the flower so you need to look closely to see the keyhole anchor. The brads can be seen from the inside so I put a white cardstock to cover it. I then put glitter onto the big flower to give it some shine and it was so pretty.

Happy Mother's Day
I hope you all the best on Mother's Day. I had a great one starting with a Mother's Day program at church then got invited over to a friend's house for Sunday dinner after church. Yummy food. All seafood and a chocolate ice cream cake for dessert for Mother's Day celebration. I feel so special.

Sketch Challenge
There is a blog candy sketch at Beate's blog. She made the 200000 clicks. Now, that is a big deal.
This is my first square card I made and it measures 5 1/4"x 5 1/4". Making different sized cards is a challenge for me. I have only made the traditional card size.
For this card I used the Doodle Line Doodle set I got at the Vancouver Regional. I just love this set.

Another Simply Said Card
I made this card with the same colour scheme as the one with the sooting technique. I used whisper white cardstock (cs) for the base so is easy for writing messages inside. The black cs was stamped in white craft ink using the dots stamp from the Itty Bitty Background set. I never thought of it before but it looked like snow. lol I crimped the red cs to give it some texture and it looked very nice behind the main image. I liked how this card turned out.
Materials Used:
Stamp-Simply Said
Papers-real red, basic black. whisper white
Inks-white craft, real red, basic black
Accessories-crimper, organdy ribbon, sponge

Simply Said
I made this card awhile ago. Just trying a new technique. The background was made using the sooting technique. I love this technique. It was very easy to do. The flower was stamped with Real Red ink onto the Whisper White cardstock (cs) then mounted onto the Real Red cs. I then coloured the flower with a blender pen. Next, I punched the right side of the Real Red cs with the horizontal slot punch then tied a ribbon through it. The ribbon matched nicely with the background.
Materials Used:
Stamp-Simply Said
Papers-glossy white, whisper white, real red, basic black
Ink-real red, basic black, versamark
Accessories-horizontal slot punch, gingham ribbon

Bear Bundle of Joy
Another baby card. I love this new set. I don't have a scallop punch so I cut out a circle then punch around it with a corner punch. This give it a scallop look. Works like a charm. I did dry embossing at the bottom for this card. It gives the card a special touch.
Materials Used:
Stamp-Bundle of Joy
Papers-chocolate chip, brocade blue, whisper white
Ink-chocolate chip
Accessories-corner punch, sponge, blender pen, Fiskars ShapeBoss

Canvas Frame
This canvas frame was part of the awesome SU seminar. The card took only a few moments to demo. Looked easy to do. Let's see if I can remember how it was done.
Materials needed to make this.
-canvas frame
-stamps
-ink pad
-cardstock, designer series paper
-any accessories you want to put on the frame
-a picture
First, randomly ink the canvas using the direct to paper technique. You can ink a lot or as little as you wish to your liking. Next, randomly stamp onto the canvas. You don't have to be perfect on the stamping for this will give it a retro look. The Mellow Moss cardstock was stamped then adhered onto the canvas. Adhere the Regal Rose and the Naturals Ivory cardstock (cs) onto the canvas then put a picture on. The Naturals Ivory cs was punched with the new Spiral Punch from the Spring Mini. Put a buckle through the grossgrain ribbon then tie it around the canvas. Then embellish with whatever you like, like the sentiment on the right bottom corner. Voila, your done. I hope the instructions are clear enough. Let me know if you need any more info and I'll try my best to explain it.
This is another sample she did before the seminar. This is the picture of her family. It is such a beautiful frame. She used the designer paper on this one. The letter "f " is a chipboard.

Bundle Of Joy
My sister needed a baby card so I came up with this. I needed a couple myself so I made 6, 3 boys and 3 girls cards. Very simple and fast. It is so simple I didn't even colour the giraffe. It is hard to see in the picture but I dry embossed in the bottom of the card with Fiskars ShapeBoss. It is a cool tool, I don't need a light table to emboss.I had this embossing kit years ago and hardly use it. This is one of the tools I own that gets forgotten because it is tucked away. If I don't see it I don't use it.
