Purple Paper Carnation

Hey there everyone! Here is the other carnation flower I promised to show you. It is another purple carnation flower made out of paper.

I also made tiny flowers from the Trio Flowers punch (retired). Aren't they cute? I left the flowers white to add contrast to the card. Not so purpley (if there is such a word). Notice the lacy piece of dark purple paper on the card? It is the new Lace Ribbon Border punch. I'm a sucker for punches. I think I own almost all the punches Stampin'Up! sells.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Purple Carnation

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I'm thankful for the cool weather today. Yesterday was hot and a little humid and our church air conditioner didn't work in the evening. It was hot for the men for sure.

I made 2 carnation flowers couple of weeks ago and they were just sitting around my desk waiting for me to make a card with them. Well, here it is. What do you think of the paper carnation?Aren't they beautiful and so real looking?

Here is a closer view of the flower. I punched several pieces of paper with the Scallop Circle punch, sponge, spritz with water, crumble them up and then assemble them with a brad in the middle.
I'll show you the other carnation I made a card with in another time.

Thank you for visiting today!

Wild About You

Happy Saturday, everyone! Hope you are having a great day so far! Made these birthday cards for my nephews' birthday.

I used the Wild About You stamp set (retired) to make these cards. All the measurements and the colours for the cards are the same except the layout is different. The background was stamped with the Print Pattern stamp (also retired) to add some texture to the paper. Very easy and simple cards. Hope they like it.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

My favorite thing about fall is the changing leaves and pumpkins. Whether used to decorate or eat in any number of ways, I always look forward to "pumpkin" season. Deb

Congratulations, ladies! Please send me an email at mrstam007@gmail.com with your full name and email address (I guess I'll have it when you send me an email lol) I'll send your name to INKspirations 4U! owner and she'll get in contact with you and get you set up.

Thank you everyone for commenting. I really enjoy reading every one of them. Fall is a nice time of year with the changing leaves. The colours are so pretty. Every year I would say to myself that I will take a nice scenery picture of the trees but every year I'm too lazy to go outside to do so. I'm always amazed at the beauty of God's creations and I'm glad He created seasons. No need to take pictures of the changing seasons and we can enjoy it year after year.

Have a good day!

Camping Trip Album

Hello, everyone! Here is an album I made 2 years ago. I looked and looked for these pictures forever and finally found it. It was actually on my husband's computer file. I thought I deleted it. I never made one for myself. I gave them all away to my family. They all loved it of course. I made 5 of these albums and it took a long time to sponge every single pages.

Here  are few inside pages of the album. I didn't add pictures to all the pages. I left some pages for them to add their own pictures to it.

Here is a top view of all the pages.

My family are waiting for me to make the 2010 and 2011 camping trip albums. Yikes! I'm so behind! That's a total of 12 albums to make.

Thank you for stopping by today! Hope you enjoyed looking at the album!

Rosette Flowers (AKA Accordion Flowers)

Hello, stampers! Here are some flowers  I made just for fun. I have not make this flower for a long time. I'm not sure what the name really is but I made a tutorial 2 years ago. I called it an accordion flower. You can view the tutorial here.

Stampin'Up! designer papers are great to make this kind of flower. I did mine with pattern papers. You could use card stock if you prefer. Card stock is a little thicker than pattern paper. I adhere the flowers onto a skewer sticks for the stem.

Thank you for stopping!

With Sympathy

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday!

I made this sympathy card for my Pastor. His mom passed away couple of weeks ago. She with the Lord up in heaven right now! I never like to make sympathy card. I never know what to write in the card that will encourage people.

I used the Fabulous Florets stamp set to make this card. Cut each squares about 1-1/2", stamp the flowers and then mounted onto basic black card stock. The background paper was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. Very simple card.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a good day!

Pinwheels Birthday Card

 Hi, there everyone!

I finally made a card with pinwheels. I've seen so many creations with pinwheels so I thought I give it a try. Very easy to make but mine looks kind of flat. I guess working with small scale is not so easy to hold onto while the glue dry.

For the handle I used skewer sticks and covered them with ribbons. The ribbon was covered with sticky strip and then wound around the skewer. I added mini glue dots to the end of the ribbon to give it a nice clean look at the end of the stick. I also used mini glue dots to glue down the sticks onto the card. Hope it will hold. The sentiment was stamped onto Vellum and adhere onto the card with mini glue dots. Wow! This card sure have a lot of mini glue dots. I'm so glad the glue it so light and not weighing the card down.

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a good day!

Altered Art Journal

Hey everyone! Here is an Art Journal that I finally altered. Stampin'Up! doesn't sell this size Art journal anymore. I'm so sad about it. Anyway. I covered the journal with the Nautical Expedition Designer Paper that is no longer available too. I forgot to order more before it was gone. I also stamped few images from the The Open Sea stamp set and adhere them onto the journal.

I covered the back of the journal too but didn't decorated a whole lot on it.

I also stamped inside every single pages (yes, every single one) of the journal with different colours and images from the The Open Sea stamp set. A lot of work but it wasn't that hard to do. It made the journal very pretty inside.

Here is a picture of the whole sailboat/sea theme creations I made awhile ago with the journal. I'm giving this to someone that I don't know at all. I want this to be an encouragement to this person who just went through a tough time and had a good spirit about it. I know this person is an encouragement to me for sure.

If you would like to see close up of the other creations in the picture just click the links below to see them.

Britannia Mine Museum

Here are some pictures of the Britannia Mine Museum we went to at the end of July. Enjoy!

Mine building built on the side of the mountain.

 Huge Mine Truck!

 DH being silly.

Gold Panning area. It was fun panning for gold even though I didn't find any real gold.

Wearing hard hats. Getting ready to ride a train to underground mine.

Train ride. It was dark in the mine tunnel so didn't have any good pictures of the inside of the mine. Also my camera battery died so no pictures after the mine tunnel. ( insert sad face)

Well, hope you all enjoyed some of the mine pictures and maybe visit the museum when ever you are in British Columbia.

Floral Petal Cone Box

Happy sunny Monday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Here is a box made with the Petal Cone Die in Vellum paper. I flipped it upside down and decorated it. I stamped the leaves from the Growing Green stamp set in Garden Green ink on each panels of the box. The big flower was stamped 3 times on Vellum paper, cut them out, curled the petals and then assembled them with mini glue dots. I added a pearl in the middle of the flower which added some elegant to it. The flower at the top of the box was done the same way except I didn't curl the petals.

What do you think of this box? I tried to put one flower hair clip in there and it holds fine without taping the flaps up. The hair clip was light enough to be able to hold the ribbon at the top without the flaps opening up at the bottom. I also tried something a little heavier ( ie. mini chocolates) to go in the box. I cut a piece of card stock to go inside at the bottom, close the 4 flaps and put mini glue dots on 2 flaps to hold it close. I was able to hold the box at the ribbon at the top. Such lovely little box!

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a good day!

I'm Back!

Hello everyone! I'm back from vacation but not really back to creating. Since I have not make anything yet I'll tell you about my vacation.

First, I want to say I'm happy for my daughter, Faith, who follow in believer's baptism on July  17, 2011. It took her 2 years to do it but she finally did it. She got baptized with her 4 friends and a boy at our church.

The next day I went to Junior Camp Y.E.S! for a week (5 days) to help out in the kitchen. It was Faith first year at Camp YES! and Jarod's 3rd year. They both had a great time and already talking about next year's camp. I couldn't help out at the Teen camp the week after. I had a camping trip of our own with my side of family.

Camp YES! Jarod's cabin.

Camp YES! Faith's cabin.

We went to Paradise Valley Campground in Squamish. There were 24 of us and a noisy bunch but we all had fun. My family is thinking about camping 2 different times next year. We'll see. Right after our family camping, just my immediate family, went to the Britannia Mine Museum. We went on a train ride to an underground mine and did some gold penning afterward. My kids enjoyed penning for real and fools gold. Jarod found a little piece of real gold and my girls just found fools gold. They didn't care cause they love rocks in any size, shape and colour.
That's it for today. I'll post pictures of the family camping trip and the mine museum in the next post. I still need to upload the pictures onto my computer.

Well, thank you for stopping by and wish you are having a wonderful summer so far. Have a good day!
