Beautiful Day

Beautiful day here in Vancouver. No card today. Just a picture of the flowers in my yard. I just love the cherry blossom at this time of year. It is so beautiful. Too bad this tree is not the best one I've seen. It is a sick and needed some pruning and pests control. I can see this cherry blossom tree from the window where my stamping corner is. Once in awhile there would be birds hanging around the cherry blossom. My son Jarod made a bird feeder during school and he filled it with bird seeds. The bird feeder is in the lower left corner of the picture. It is made out of a juice carton. He was so excited one time when he spotted a bird eating the seeds. He only filled it once since he made it and now it is empty. Excitement only lasts so long for little kids.
Have a good Friday.

Triangle Trifold Paisley

I made this card in March when I saw the tutorial on Beate's blog. This particular technique is called the "Triangle Trifold." This was my very first try. I had a lot of difficulty getting the fold the right way. I think a few more tries with this technique and I will get it.
I don't have the background paper to match the flower so I stamped my own background paper. I used regular 20lb paper for the background. (Just thought I'd try something different). Although it was a bit challenging I believe I can also say it was fun. Best of all I added another technique to my "utility belt."

Materials Used:

Stamp- Polka Dots & Paisley
Papers- regal rose, whisper white, 20lb copy stock, certainly celery
Inks- pretty in pink, certainly celery, and brocade blue
Accessories- ribbon, sponge

Green Basket

Just thought I try this basket out.

I made this basket using the instruction from Beate's blog. She did a tutorial on it.

I cut the big flowers out, punched the small flowers out from the Spring Bouquet Flower punch, then punch a 1/16" circle to both flowers and secure them with brads . I also punched the basket with the same punch then put the flowers on it. I like sponging so, I sponged the edges to give some colour to the green. I then used the corner punch to make the scallop look on the handle. That is so cool, isn't it? I did not come up with this technique. Someone else did but I don't remember who. To get the scallop look just simply take the punch guard out then punch away.
My daughter loves this basket. She folds tissue paper nice and neatly then puts them in the basket.

Materials Used:
Stamp- Looks Like Spring
Papers- certainly celery, whisper white, so saffron
Inks- certainly celery, regal rose
Accessories- brads, sponge

Jesus Raises From The Dead

Luke 24:1-9

Now upon the first day fo the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
And it came to pass, as they were perplex there about, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
And they remembered his words,
And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.

I'm so glad Jesus died for my sin so I may live with Him eternaly someday.

God Bless you,
Deanna

Lavender Paisley

I needed some bridal shower cards so I came up with this. It is the same layout as the pink card of the tulips. I just made it in a different colour and stamps. There is no limit to what you can do with the same layout. You can use different colours, stamps, papers or embillishments. Just let your imagination run wild.

Materials Used:
Stamp- Polka Dots & Paisley
Papers- lavender lace, whisper white
Inks- lavender lace, basic black
Accessories- ribbon, dimensionals

Happy Stamping!

Trifold Looks Like Spring

I got a sample card from the wedding fair and loved how it looked so I made my own template. It is a little smaller than the original. I used an 8 1/2 x 11 Bravo Burgandy cardstock then cut it to 3 3/4" x 11" . I then scored it at 3 3/4" then at 7" leaving the last panel at 3 1/2" (this is the cover). Fold the scored lines. I stamped two flowers, cut it out, then taped it together using dimensional to separate the flowers so it would not be so close together. This give it some dimension. Looks better in real life (IRL). I used a slit punch on the front panel for the ribbon to go through. I cut two slits on the middle panel to hold the ribbon. The ribbon will not fall off when it is open.

Materials Used:
Stamps- Looks Like Spring, Cute Converse
Papers- bravo burgandy, whisper white, mellow moss
Ink- bravo bugandy
Accessories- brads, slit punch, spring bouquet flower punch, 1/16" punch, sponge, dinmensional, gingham ribbon

Looks Like Spring Mother's Day

This is another Mother's Day card for the class. First time using the lace background stamp. It is such a beautiful stamp. I'm so glad I finally got one. The big flower is stamped and cut out. I curled the petals using a pair of scissors. The little yellow flower is punched out from the Spring Bouquet Flower punch then mounted on with dimensional. I sponged around the card base and the so saffron paper to make it nicer.

Materials Used:
Stamps- Looks Like Spring, Happy Mother's Day stamp unknown source
Paper- so saffron, regal rose, whisper white
Inks- so saffron. regal rose, basic black
Accessories- grossgrain ribbons

Happy Stamping!

CASED Mother's Day Card

I saw this card on Splitcoaststampers (SCS) from Jeanne Streiff and loved it so much I cased it(copy and share everything). She does beautiful cards. I only changed the sentiment. I needed to make some samples for Mother's Day card class. This is one of them.

Materials Used:
Stamps- Polka Dots & Paisly, Happy Mother's Day stamp unknown source
Papers- so saffron, certainly celery, regal rose, whisper white
Inks- so saffron, regal rose, basic black
Accessories- white organdy and grosgrain ribbons

Happy Pink

This one was a quicky. Nice and simple. It took me five minutes to do it. Well, the thinking took another five minutes. There is glitter on the flowers but you can't see it in the picture. The Happy word was stamped, then punch out with a large oval punch. There was no larger oval so I mounted it onto a regal rose cardstock, then cut around it. I wish there made a larger oval punch.
Materials Used:
Stamp- Polka Dots & Paisly
Papers- regal rose, whiper white
Inks- regal rose
Accessories- ribbon, large oval punch

Baby Shower Card

More baby cards! Here is another card I have made for a baby shower. Lots of people I know are having babies so I have to make lots and lots of baby cards.
You can't see it but the flowers on the background were embossed with clear embossing powder. The baby was coloured using pastels.

Materials Used:
Stamps- Welcome, Little One, Tag Punch
Papers- whisper white, regal rose, summer sun, certainly celery
Accesseries- pastels, twine, ribbon clear embossing powder

Petal Birthday Card

I made this card the same as the Mother's Day card. Just changed the sentiment. A lady at church asked me to make her some Mother's Day cards and I loved how it turn out so I made some for myself but put Birthday Wishes instead. No ribbon and no eyelet. The two yellow dots on the window punch pieces are just little dots that are punched out using 1/4" punch and glued on. For anyone who doesn't have any eyelets or the right colour that will match.

Materials Used:
Stamp- Petal Print, Sincere Salutations
Paper- Non SU yellow, blue, green and white
Ink- Ballet blue
Accesseries- window punch, daisy punch, 1/4" handheld punch

Check back often to see more card ideas.
Happy stamping.

Many Thanks Petal Print

The flower in this card was stamped and cut out of a seperate piece of paper then mounted on the card. This made it stand out a little. Next time I'll try the stampin' dimensionals to mount the flowers so it will not look so flat.

You like the watermark on the photo? It is so neat. My husband did this for me. He is so talented.

Materials Used:
Stamp- Petal Print, All Year Cheers I
Inks- Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose, Old Olive, and Basic Black
Papers- Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, and Whisper White
Accessories- Pink Organdy Ribbon

Lovely As a Tree

This oak tree card was from the set Lovely As A Tree. I did a soot technique to make this card. It is a fun technique to do but kind of scary if you're not careful. Playing with fire is always dangerous. Always have a tub of water handy when doing this technique. You can find the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. It is a great site to go to for inspirations and techniques.

Materials Used:
Stamp- Lovely As a Tree
Ink- Versamark
Paper- Basic black, glossy white, and whisper white
Assecceries- Grossgrain and ginham ribbons

Two Terrific Tulip Thank You Cards

I finally put some cards together. These were half completed cards from long ago. Now they are finished. I regret not buying the Terrific Tulips stamp set. It was retired last year. It was once on my wish list. It was a very nice set.

For this card I used Pretty In Pink cardstock for the card base and stamped On the Spot onto the White Whisper cardstock. I adhered a pink grossgrain ribbon through the centre of the card. Next, I used the two step stamping technique on the tulips onto the Whisper White cardstock and taped it to the Pretty In Pink cardstock . I just got this Riveting hostess set and had to use it. I cut the circle freehand.

I used Perfect Plum cardstock as the base for this card. As you can see there are also three different green cardstocks, Old Olive (the crimped one), Mellow Moss and Certainly Celery. I used the direct to paper technique on the stamped image of the tulips. Now it is not so blah. I then randomly stamped the little flowers onto the Whisper White cardstock to make a background paper and adhered this to the Perfect Plum cardstock. I stamped the "thanks" from the All Year Cheer(I) set onto a scrap piece of Certainly Celery cardstock and punched it out with the large oval punch. Put it all together and voila!

Happy Stamping.

Welcome, Little One Thank You Cards

I made this card to thank all the ladies at church who gave my youngest daughter gifts for her shower. It took me a month to make 30 of this card. A lot of time, but well worth it!

I used Whisper White, So Saffron, Perfect Plum, and Regal Rose cardstock. I coloured the baby with pastels. The Thanks So Much sentiment is embossed but you can't see it in the scan. I like the Welcome, Little One set and too bad it is retired.
Have a good day,

Yippee! The Starter Kit, It's Here!

Yippee! My mini starter kit is here. Now I'll go and mount my two stamp sets Polka Dots & Paisly and Greetings Galore. I love the Polka Dots & paisly set. I received a card from my upline using this set. It is so beautiful.

Two Saturdays ago my sisters and I did scrapbooking. We get together once a month to have a little fun and do what we love to do.
The base is certainly celery card stock and the stripe paper is from the simply scrapin Delight in Life Sellabration kit. The word cute is from the SAB set So Very stamp set. The swirly is from the Fresh Flower stamp set.

Have a good day.
