Birthdays Are the Best!
Hello, everyone! Happy Monday! I have not post for a whole week! Wow! That's a long time! At least it feels like it to me. We've been visiting the Olympic FREE venues here in Vancouver and didn't create anything at all. My kids really enjoyed being out! They didn't really mind waiting in line for all those venues. Most places are 30 mins or more of waiting. I'm glad they didn't complained at all.
I was surfing the blogsphere or blogworld, whatever people call it, and found this card that someone made (forgot which blog) and immediately knew I have to CASE it. Jarod loves penguins so I kept the idea of this card to make for his birthday.
I was able whip up this cute card for Jarod last night. He turned 11 on Sunday but he loves these penguins. The characters are from Club Penguin. If you have young children you might have heard of this site.
I used all SU! punches to make these adorable penguins!
ETA: these are the punches I used for this card
1-3/4" circle punch-body
1-1/4" circle punch-belly
large oval punch-head, arms and balloons (I cut the top of balloon free hand)
wide oval punch-feet
small oval punch-beak
1/2" circle punch-snowballs
hole puncher-snowflakes and eyes
word window punch-pole
curly label punch-sign
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Happy Vanlintine's Day and Happy Chinese New Year!
Happy Sunday! Wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Chinese New Year to my Chinese readers! I made these cello bags filled with gummy bears for my children. They are dying to eat them! They saw me made this and took pictures of it and ask who are these for. I didn't tell them these are for them but they will be very happy to receive them today.
This one is for my hubby. My kids and I went and bought the dark chocolate from a local chocolate factory here in Vancouver. I had to secretly make a wrapper for it. I did it while he was at work.
I made a pull out treat holder to hold a really big chocolate package.
Here is what is inside the holder.
I also made some pillow boxes for my kids to give for their friends at church today. The boxes are the same ones I made for my sisters and nephew so I didn't take picture of it.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Basket Tutorial
Hello, everyone! Happy Friday! As promised here is the basket tutorial.
You'll need two 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" piece of cardstock. Use 1 piece of 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" cardstock and cut the basket from the Basket & Blooms die using the Big Shot. I've already cut the basket shown in the picture above. Set the basket aside.
Put the other 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" piece of cardstock in the paper trimmer and score the 2 long sides at 3/8". Turn the paper on the short side and score at 2-3/4" and 5-3/4".
The above picture show all the score lines. Cut slits on the 2 middle score lines on both sides. Add sticky strip on the four side flaps. This piece of cardstock is the middle of the basket. Set this piece aside. The pencil is just for the camra to be able to focus on something.
Trim at the dotted line on the 2 basket pieces and add sticky strips at the bottom of both basket pieces. These pieces are the 2 sides of the basket.
Remove one sticky strip at a time on the middle piece of carstock and one side of the basket piece as shown above.
This is how it looks like when 2 basket sides are attached to the middle piece.
Turn it over and fold the two middle flaps way down so it will be out of the way when you attach the other side of basket sides to the middle piece.
This is how it looks like before you attach the other sides of the basket sides to the middle piece.
This is how the bottom middle flaps of the middle piece should look like before it is attach.
Attach the 2 middle flaps of the middle piece to the basket side pieces. You're done!
I add paper flowers to the 2 sides of the basket. I've seen this flower made on other blogs but when I saw it on Rita's blog I just have to try to make one myself.
Here is a picture of the basket again. Hope you enjoy the tutorial and have fun making it! If you have any questions leave a comment and I'll answer when I can.
Happy Stamping!

2010 Olympic Torch Relay
Hello, everyone! It was a wonderful day today! My kids and I got a chance to go see the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay. When I woke up it was raining hard. I thought should I go or not but we went anyway. Glad we did! I did prayed for no rain when it is time for the runner to pass our way and God answered my prayer. It rained shortly after that. lol We were standing in front of our church with other church members waving our Canada Flags. The kids really enjoyed it and now they can tell their kids about it.
While we were waiting I took some pictures of the kids and friends.
Jarod holding a memento Coca-cola bottle. While we were waiting for the bearer to pass by, the Coca Cola people came by and gave everyone a bottle of coke. I didn't get one though. Missed it! Jarod and Faith got one. Hope didn't and was devastated.
My Pastor
Passing of the flames. We were about 20 feet from where they passed the flames to the other torchbearer and it was amazing.
Torchbearer who ran pass us. My best photo of her. Some lady kept standing in front of me. She moved when the the runner moved. arrg!
One of the torchbearer talking on the phone. This was after everyone was gone and traffic back to normal.

Basket O Ribbons
Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday! What do you think of this basket? I made it with the Basket and Blooms Die cut. I filled it with spools of ribbons and it fit very nicely. A great way to show off the ribbons and the basket die when you have a SU open house(s).
I made the piece in between the Basket and Bloom die using a 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" piece of cardstock. I'll make a tutorial for this basket so keep checking back for the tutorial if you are interest in making one yourself.
Here is another view of the basket. Isn't it a lovely? I added two butterflies from Simple Friendship stamp set on the front of the basket.
Thank you for visiting today! Have a fun filled day of stamping!

Set of Birthday Cards
Happy Saturday, everyone! How was your week? Mine was busy but a good one. I was busy stamping away.
Here are some cards I made for a friend. She wanted some birthday cards to give away. So this was what I came up with.
I used the Bella Bleu DP to make the cards. I die cut all the butterflies using the same DP and added rhinestones on the bigger butterflies. I got the rhinestones from the $1 store. The package came with 3 colours of rhinestones and the blue one was the perfect match with the Bella Bleu DP.
Thank you for visiting today! Have a great weekend!

Pillow Box Tutorial
Hello, everyone! Well, I got several questions on the pillow boxes I made for my sisters (picture above). I thought I make a mini tutorial but it ended to be lengthy.
1. These pictures below shows where I punch the hearts on side with the flap where you put the sticky strip. I use the light blue cardstock for this one.
I draw lines so you can see where the fold lines are and where the flap for the sticky strip is. I line the punch between the 2 sides of the fold lines, push the punch up as far as I can and punch.
This is how it looks like after it is punched.
Fold the flap for the sticky strip.
Stick the box together and this is how it look like.
Fold the bigger flap down first and then the small one next. The above picture shows how it look like. It doesn't look as nice but it does the job. Your flap will stay put for a long time.
I punch the hearts this way so when you fold the flaps and when you look at the box from the front the flaps are facing the back.
2. These pictures below shows where I punch the hearts on the side without the flap for the sticky strip.
To get the hearts in the middle of the box line the heart punch between the 2 fold lines of the side flaps, line the bottom of the heart about 3/8" up from the edge and punch. This way the flap for the sticky strip will not show.
Fold the flap for the sticky strip and stick box together.
This is how it looks like when the box is stick together.
Fold the smaller flaps first then the bigger flaps. To do it this way it looks better which it is meant to be this way but the bigger flaps doesn't stay put. You can use ribbon to keep it close, too.
Hope this help answer some questions. If you have any questions about the tutorial just leave a comment here and I'll try to answer them.
Phew! That was a lot of pictures just to explain something so simple. I gotta learn how to video my tutorial. I think that will be a lot faster.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
